Like other sixth grade classes, Mr. Fabiano’s class is made up of individuals, each with their own problems and concerns. Unlike other sixth grade classes, when Mr. Fabiano’s substitute teacher doesn’t show up for school, they decide to run the class by themselves for the day. Predictable? Far from it! The lessons learned this day will be dramatic and unforeseen as the cry of freedom is mixed with responsibility and compassion.* Ralph Fletcher's Internet Site Readers' Theater Script *(From Forged in the Fire, Bluebonnet Celebrations #6, © 2000, Suzy Red, Lockhart, Texas)
