EllRay is the smallest, skinniest 3rd grader in Ms. Sanchez's class, but he's tough enough not to flinch when the big class bullies, Jared and Stanley, punch him hard on the arm. Ms. Sanchez never seems to see Jared grinding his knuckles into EllRay's ribs or anything else that is happening, and EllRay will never tell. The other kids think EllRay is cool and don't like seeing the bullying going on, but what can they do?

EllRay's parents are concerned about the bruises. Is he causing trouble? What will happen when they try to bribe EllRay to be good for a week to win a trip to Disneyland? If you were EllRay, what would you do? If you were in his class, what would you do?
