POPCORN CHIT-CHAT

MATERIALS:  small paper bags, popcorn

PROCEDURE:  After reading a novel, have a  "Popcorn Chit Chat." The students eat popcorn as they discuss their novel in a book-club style format.

The paper bags have been handed out the day before and are decorated appropriately for the novel.

Hand each group a list of open ended discussion questions which they discuss while enjoying their popcorn. You'll be quite impressed with the quality of their discussions!

Try this with other subjects: At the end of any chapter or unit, the students sit around as scientists, historians, mathematicians, etc., and discuss their recent "discoveries."
